Proposed New Dwelling, Morgan Porth, Cornwall

Design proposals for a contemporary four-bedroom dwelling in Morgan Porth, North Cornwall, set within a rugged coastal landscape, overlooking the valley and dunes.

The design adopts a restrained architectural language through carefully selected materials of natural timber and stone, allowing the property to sit quietly within its setting. Conceived as a Cornish sanctuary, the dwelling provides a refined space more rooted in landscape, but within walking distance of Morgan Porth’s bustling surf scene.

An upside down arrangement places open plan kitchen, dining and living areas around a south-facing courtyard with views through the building to the valley beyond. At lower-ground, 4 generous bedrooms open directly onto a steeply sloping wildflower meadow.

The result is a sensitively scaled, understated family home that sits harmoniously within its setting.
